Barbering Tradition
Barbering has a long tradition. For many decades, men would go to the barber's for a shave every day. Nobody understood how to give the perfect haircut or shave quite like the barber. This was a skill unique to him. Due to technical advancement and the hectic pace of modern life, this wonderful tradition has almost completely died out.

Nowadays, however, barber shops are coming back into fashion. Men are rediscovering this old tradition, and a new barber shop is now opened almost every day in the world's fashion hotspots. However, it is about much more than getting the latest men's haircut at the barber shop - it's about a way of life that is being conveyed here.

Having invented the hair clipper in the USA in 1919, WAHL can look back on vast experience within the field of American barbering. As a result, Wahl's top know-how has been passed down from generation to generation.

Many of the hair clippers from Wahl are regarded in the international barber scene as cult products, because the special haircuts demand maximum precision – and – the right tools. The Wahl barber machines developed specially in the USA have a very masculine aura with cool retro design and have special blade sets that bring even the most difficult hair into top shape.

History

History
Hairstyling appliances are among the most important tools in the hairdressing salon. The very first hairstyling appliance was patented in 1919 and launched on the market. Its inventor, Leo Wahl, established a company in Sterling/IL (USA) at this time which is the global market leader today for high-performance hairstyling appliances: the Wahl Clipper Corporation.

This success is primarily due to the high quality standard and level of precision of these appliances. The corporation has since grown and numbers 3,300 employees, in 8 factories, and 21 sales and marketing offices active on the market in 165 countries around the world. Wahl GmbH, with its company headquarters in the town of St. Georgen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is also a player in this corporation.

The company has enjoyed a considerable history with major international dimensions, shaped by a wealth of inventiveness, tradition and innovation. A closer look at the enterprise is well worthwhile, because many aspects are completely unique and contribute to the continued global success of the company.

Family is a word with a special meaning at Wahl, because the company is still a family-owned enterprise, and a few members of the family are actively involved in the business. For example, the incumbent President of the corporation, Gregory Wahl, represents the third generation of the family.
